NAWIC Webinar – Lessons from Lockdown

2020 has been a year which has stopped the hamster wheel many of us have been trapped in for a while and made us take count of where we are at in our lives, what impact our work is having in society and how else we should be contributing to the wider world.
  • the year started with rumours of a Covid 19 pandemic spreading beyond Wuhan,
  • followed by fires in the Amazon and Australian bush,
  • then it came lockdown,
  • the social, physical and mental impact of the virus,
  • the global awakening to the ongoing work of the BLM movement (active since 2013) and the racial inequalities embedded in our daily lives
  • the evaluation of the ways in which societies have been celebrating the past and
  • more recently, the exploration of a way forward which includes Brexit.
It has not been an easy year but it is one with a legacy which will no doubt impact our lives and the built environment.
We would like to invite you to attend a conversation between Cristina Lanz Azcarate, Architect and Chair of NAWIC London and South East and Safia Boot, Independent Workplace Investigator and Advisor on topics such as Diversity and race as part of the NAWIC London and South East committee.
Cristina and Safia will share their lockdown experiences, personal and professional, and they will explore positive outcomes and lessons to take forward. They will also invite attendees to share their own journeys.
