Four years ago, as the world cautiously emerged from lockdowns, we hosted one of our very first in-person plant swap events. It was a joyful opportunity to reconnect, share what we’d learned about nurturing nature indoors, and laugh about our collective journey as accidental botanists.
Plants revive, inspire, and connect us and hence we’ve decided to do it all again!
Whether you’re looking to upsize your plant family, rehome some green friends, or simply talk planty things, join us for another friendly, relaxed evening..
Why plant swap:
- It’s sustainable. Swapping gives plants a second life and keeps single-use packaging out of landfill.
- It’s affordable. With the price of plants rising, swaps give everyone a chance to grow their collection.
- It’s community. Trade stories and tips while trading cuttings
- It’s environmentally friendly. Let’s counteract plant poaching, reduce habitat destruction, and promote peat-free planting.
Every cutting you swap helps make gardening accessible, green, and generational.
What to bring:
- Healthy plants or rooted cuttings—anything from fancy to classic
- Spare plants cluttering up your space? Bring them to find a new home.
- No rare ? No problem! “Common” to you is a discovery for someone else.
- Puzzled by pests or sad leaves? Bring your questions (and photos) and we will try to help . We are no experts but might have gone through the same
Provisional plan for the day :
- You will sign in on arrival and receive tickets equal to the number of plants/cuttings you bring.
- Display your contributions on the swap table.
- Mingle, chat, and admire the greenery as everyone arrives.
- Enjoy a short talk on how biophilia (our natural tendency to connect with nature) can be embraced at home, workplaces, and the built environment at large.
- Swap tips on propagation, care, and “lessons learned” from your plant adventures.
- When ready, the swap begins! Use your tickets to choose new plants to take home.
No minimum, no maximum, bring what you can, take what you need. Last time, beginners went home with multiple new plants thanks to the community spirit of sharing.
